A new market will be opening to serve residents in and around South Oxhey, after Three Rivers District Council agreed it’s relocation to a sustainable location within the South Oxhey redevelopment. The new location for the market will be a dedicated area fronting Prestwick Road, specifically created as part of the regeneration scheme.
Officers at Three Rivers, Watford Rural Parish Council and Countryside Properties Ltd have been working together on plans for the new market place. The area includes water and power to facilitate up to 14 stalls when up and running, and will hopefully include food stalls as well as a range of other goods. The market will be managed by Watford Rural Parish Council.
Sara Bedford, Leader of the Council, said: “Markets still play a valuable role as an important part of the local shopping facilities. Many provide good value shopping at reasonable cost, and play a significant part in the social and cultural life of the area.”
