£1,000 boost helps Rickmansworth Toy Library keep playtime rolling
Playtime just got a little brighter for children across Three Rivers. Rickmansworth Toy Library, the district’s much-loved toy-borrowing charity, has received a £1,000 boost from Three Rivers District Council to refresh its collection and bring even more fun to local families.
The volunteer-run charity, which has been supporting the community since 1997, gives families a sustainable alternative to buying new toys. Children can explore a wide range of games, toys, and soft-play equipment — including the library’s popular soft-play set — all available to borrow for a small fee.
Cllr Sarah Nelmes, Deputy Leader of Three Rivers District Council and Lead Member for General Public Services, said: “Rickmansworth Toy Library has been bringing joy to children across our district for nearly 30 years. We’re thrilled to support their fantastic work through our Sustainability Fund, helping families have fun while caring for the environment.”
Helen Nolan from Rickmansworth Toy Library said: “We are grateful to Three Rivers District Council for the Sustainability Fund Grant to buy new high-quality toys. This funding will enable us to further our mission to offer affordable, sustainable access to toys in our community and continue reducing waste by keeping toys in circulation longer.”
Families: come and join the fun! Borrow toys, try something new, and watch your children’s imaginations run wild — all without breaking the bank. It’s easy, affordable, and full of smiles.
Community groups: you could be next! Grants are available through the council’s Community Sustainability and Wellbeing Funds. If your organisation is making a positive impact in the community, apply today and give your project the boost it deserves: https://www.w3rt.org/community_funds.
Don’t let playtime stop — borrow, enjoy, and make a difference!
