Reminder for parents that receive Child Benefit payments
Three Rivers parents that receive child benefit payments are reminded to take action before it’s too late.
Three Rivers District Council is urging parents and carers of teens staying in full-time education or training that they need to let HM Revenue and Customers (HMRC) know to continue receiving child benefit payments.
Those who are in receipt of the child benefits have until 31 August to notify HMRC or else their payments will automatically cease. A letter should have been distributed to those affected from HMRC with guidance on what they need to do.
Individuals with children aged 16 and 17 who confirm this online or on the HMRC app will see changes applied to their child benefit claim immediately, by viewing their proof of entitlement.
Individuals with children 18 or over who are eligible can advise HMRC on an online form, and changes will be applied automatically.
Council Leader, Cllr Sarah Nelmes, said: “Parents and carers only have less than a month to notify HMRC, so please make sure you fill out the relevant online forms as soon as possible to claim all the child benefit payments you are entitled to.”
