Quiz night raises £2,000 for local Scouts and Guides

Around £2,000 was raised at a charity quiz night hosted by the Chair of Three Rivers District Council on Saturday.

Around £2,000 was raised at a charity quiz night hosted by the Chair of Three Rivers District Council on Saturday.

More than 150 guests attended the evening of fun and entertainment held at Watersmeet theatre and hosted by the council Chair, Cllr Keith Martin. The nominated charity was Lees Wood Scout and Guide Activity Centre.

Cllr Martin said: “The evening was a great success. Thank you to everyone who supported the event by purchasing tickets, donating prizes, and buying raffle tickets. Thanks also to the fantastic staff at Watersmeet and Three Rivers, the excellent quiz master Bryan, and the musicians who entertained us on the evening.”

The council Chair will next be hosting the Pensioners’ Forum on Monday, 21 March, featuring a host of guests including students from Rickmansworth School who will perform songs from the musical Matilda. There will also be a talk on the history of Moor Park mansion, and advice on how to grow your own vegetables.
