Public invited to community safety event in Abbots Langley

Residents of Abbots Langley and Bedmond are being invited to a Community Safety Event taking place next week where people can obtain a raft of information about keeping themselves and their property safe.
The event, which is organised by police and Three Rivers District Council, is taking place at Manor House, Abbots Langley WD5 ODD, on Wednesday 23rd September between 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
People will be able to get a wealth of advice including advice about burglary from a Detective Sergeant from the Local Crime Unit as well as advice about current telephone and mail scams from Trading Standards officers.
Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team will also be there to provide information and advice, and the opportunity for people to discuss any concerns they have about crime in the area.
Neighbourhood Watch members will be at the event encouraging people to sign up and receive regular information and updates from their local policing teams.
People will also have the opportunity to take a home a timer switch to give their home the ‘lived in look’ and light refreshments will also be provided.
Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeant Neil Canning said: “There will be lots of really useful information and advice, particularly around seasonal crimes including burglary, and we’d welcome people to attend. Please feel free to invite family, neighbours and friends who might find this of interest.”
