Support has been shown for the British Armed Forces today (Tuesday) by raising the Armed Forces Day flag at the head office of Three Rivers District Council.

The Leader of the Council, Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst and the council’s Armed Forces Champion, Cllr Sarah Nelmes, officially raised the flag ahead of Armed Forces Day this Saturday, 28 June.

The annual event is a chance for the public to show their support to the Armed Forces community including current service personnel, veterans, cadets and service families. Showing support for the Armed Forces is designed to provide a much-valued morale boost for the troops and their families.

Cllr Giles-Medhurst said: “As leader of the council I am immensely proud to raise this flag and show support to all those who currently serve and who have served in any capacity in our armed forces. I say thank you to all of them  for their extraordinary service to our country, and will be thinking of all they do as the nation marks this important day.”
