Families across Three Rivers can help Santa this Christmas by joining the free North Pole Safari — a magical augmented reality story trail bringing festive fun throughout December.

Follow the trail to uncover 10 hidden magical clues - each clue reveals a North Pole character in augmented reality, along with a hidden letter to solve Santa’s secret password.

The adventure is split into two themed routes:

  • The Workshop Route – step inside Santa’s bustling workshop to meet the elves who make Christmas happen.
  • The Winterwood Route – wander through snowy forests to discover the magical creatures of the North Pole.

Created in collaboration with High Street Safari, the festive trail will be at Leavesden Country Park and Rickmansworth Aquadrome. The trail is free, family-friendly, and easy to join – simply scan the QR codes by each character to find out more and see the festive fun in augmented reality. Each route takes about 45 minutes, and families can complete them in one go or over several visits.

Once families have completed the trail and solved the password, they’ll become Official Certified Elf Helpers and can claim their festive e-book prize.

Cllr Chris Lloyd, Three Rivers District Council’s Lead Member for Leisure said: “I am delighted we are bringing the Christmas trail back to Three Rivers.

“It’s a magical way for families to get in the fresh air and explore some of our parks and open spaces – it is the perfect way to enjoy an outdoor adventure that blends technology with festive fun”.

Don’t miss your chance to become an Official Elf Helper. Join the North Pole Safari between 1 December and 5 January and help Santa make this Christmas truly magical.
