Local residents in Three Rivers are benefiting from having top-class leisure facilities on their doorstep.

South Oxhey Leisure Centre and William Penn Leisure Centre, managed by Everyone Active in partnership with Three Rivers District Council, have been recognised for their excellent services following a thorough assessment by Sport England’s leading national quality scheme, Quest.

This is the first time that the centres were awarded the status of ‘excellent’ through the Quest process. The facilities went through a rigorous inspection process in order to achieve the accolade, including mystery visits and a one-day, on-site assessment to evaluate all aspects of its operations and management.

The awards not only recognise the consistently high-quality services delivered by staff and the top-class facilities on offer to customers, it also acknowledges the extra effort by Everyone Active to engage the community and improve individuals’ health and wellbeing through fun, affordable activity.

Quest was established in 1996 and is the best-known improvement programme within the leisure sector. It defines industry standards and encourages the ongoing development of facilities and services.

John Sewell, Everyone Active’s area contract manager, said: “We are really pleased to have been recognised by Quest for not one, but two centres in the area. To have achieved an excellent ranking is a testament to the ongoing hard work and passion of our colleagues to providing a top-class service.

“It’s great that local people can rest assured they will be getting the best service when they use our facilities.”

Cllr Chris Lloyd, Lead Member for Leisure at Three Rivers District Council, said: “I am delighted that both William Penn and South Oxhey Leisure Centres have been awarded the Quest Excellent ranking. I would like to encourage more residents to come and use the centres. Keeping fit helps with wellbeing. I would like to thank the Everyone Active team who have contributed to this success and look forward to the continued partnership between Three Rivers District Council and Everyone Active”.
