The government has launched its "Homes for Ukraine" scheme for people in the UK to host refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine in their homes.

The government has launched its "Homes for Ukraine" scheme for people in the UK to host refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine in their homes.

The scheme will enable individuals, charities, community groups and businesses to volunteer accommodation for Ukrainian refugees.

Sponsors should provide accommodation for as long as they are able, with a minimum expectation of 6 months.

People arriving under this scheme will be able to:

  • Live and work in the UK for up to three years
  • Access healthcare, benefits, employment support, education, and English language tuition
