A council’s legal services team has once again been awarded the Law Society's prestigious Lexcel Award (legal practice quality mark) for the nineteenth hear in succession.

A council’s legal services team has once again been awarded the Law Society's prestigious Lexcel Award (legal practice quality mark) for the nineteenth hear in succession.

Three Rivers were first accredited with the Lexcel Award in 2001 and have retained ever since. Three Rivers was the first District Council in Hertfordshire to achieve the award.

Leader of the Council, Sara Bedford said: "I am delighted that once again the quality of the work provided by our Legal team under the leadership of Anne Morgan has been recognised.  This award recognises that Three Rivers is consistently offering a high level of customer service and management standards in protecting the council and our residents."

Solicitor to the Council, Anne Morgan, added: “We pride ourselves on providing a first-rate legal service for the Council and it is great to receive external recognition of our high client care standards. We have always operated an open door policy and place a high value on accessibility, willingness and service.”

The assessor's assessment summary stated that: “The Department is to be commended on a very good visit. The assessor has no hesitation in recommending that Legal Services now be re-accredited. Good practice was identified across all areas of the Standard.”

Among the areas assessed by the Law Society are case management, service provision, management structure and office administration.

The award is achieved for reaching high standards of client care, risk management and effective outcomes on legal file matters. It is significant in that it automatically helps assist and compliment the Council’s annual audit.
