Good Neighbour Award winners were presented with their prizes of £100 of shopping vouchers at the annual tenants' conference

Good Neighbour Award winners were presented with their prizes of £100 of shopping vouchers at the annual tenants' conference on Saturday (3 November). The prizes were awarded by Kerry Harding, Chair of the new Thrive Homes housing association which will take over as landlord of the Council's housing in spring 2008.

The winners are: Mrs Kirby, Maple Cross who was nominated by Mr E Duggan and Mr Noel Lewis, South Oxhey who was nominated by Ms Isabel Santos.

The awards were for being kind and helpful to a neighbour and to those around them, doing more for other people than would normally be expected of a neighbour.

The tenants who nominated the award winners were presented with a bouquet of flowers.

Two conferences were held on Saturday - in Rickmansworth and South Oxhey. The themes of the conferences were the programme of improvements to homes and the resident involvement strategy. The Thrive Standard will be used in deciding the work that will be done in the £41.5 million improvement programme that Thrive Homes will be delivering after April. The resident involvement strategy will enable tenants and leaseholders to become more engaged in the running of Thrive Homes. Three workshops were held at each conference on each of these subjects and suggestions were put forward by tenants.
