Residents looking for help to lead healthy and more active lifestyles can take advantage of a new series of outdoor activities this summer.

Three Rivers District Council’s Active Parks scheme is designed to cater to all fitness levels with a variety of activities taking place in the parks, open spaces and woodlands. The programme will run from early June until the end of September.

From yoga and tai chi to beginners running and Zumba, there is something for everyone to enjoy – including a range of classes designed specifically for mums and babies. Session prices are no more than £2.50 and classes take place in a range of locations.

Cllr Chris Lloyd, the council’s Lead Member for Leisure, said: “We are fortunate to have fantastic parks and open spaces across the district, and I am delighted that we are supporting our residents to get active this summer.

“Whether you are brand new to fitness, are looking for a new challenge, or simply want to try something new please check out the timetable of activities on our website – there really is something for everyone”.

As well as the exciting timetable of activities, residents are encouraged to enjoy free opportunities on offer in parks and open spaces across the district. With a range of tennis courts, parkour areas, skate parks and outdoor fitness zones, as well as numerous walking and cycling routes there are plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors and get active. Three Rivers is also fortunate to work with partner organisations who host a range of different activities, including WildPlay, parkrun and local tennis leagues.

A full timetable can be found on our website, which includes information on how to book a session: https://www.threerivers.gov.uk/services/leisure-parks-culture/active-parks.
