If you are a European Union citizen, who was resident in the UK before 31 December 2020, you and your family members (including non-EU citizens) need to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme  if you want to continue to live, work and study in the UK after 30 June 2021.

The EU Settlement Scheme allows you to continue to live, work and study here in the UK. It means you will continue to be eligible for:

  • public services, such as healthcare and schools
  • public funds and pensions
  • British citizenship, if you want to apply and meet the requirements

The online application tool checks your identity and UK residence, and asks you to declare any criminal convictions. The deadline for applications is 30 June 2021. You can apply using any device, for example a laptop, Android device or iPhone.

For information about applying on behalf of children, visit the GOV.UK page .

Please be aware that the council is legally prevented from offering any advice or guidance regarding your application or any other issue related to immigration.

Residents who need advice about eligibility or help with the application can get free, confidential, independent and impartial advice through Citizens Advice .

Cllr Sarah Nelmes, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “We are very proud of the EU citizens who live and work in Three Rivers, and the contribution they make. I’m pleased to see that many have already been successful in their applications, so I urge any other EU citizens to apply to the scheme as soon as possible.”
