Multiple charities and organisations in and around Three Rivers continue to receive a cash boost to the tune of hundreds of thousands of pounds.

District councillors sitting on the Policy and Resources Committee agreed on Monday 26 January to splice nearly £330,000 of funds to seven organisations in the community and voluntary sector. The funding is still subject to the budget being agreed in February at Full Council.

Three Rivers District Council continues to be the largest funder to the Citizens Advice Service in Hertfordshire, which received £260,000 and provides vital advice services to thousands of residents about debt, benefits, housing and more. Watford & Three Rivers Trust, which provides support and guidance to the community and voluntary sector through the development of community organisations, received £40,000 from the district council.

Cllr Steve Drury, Lead Member for Community Engagement, Public Safety & Housing, said: “Community and voluntary groups and organisations are at the heart of supporting our residents with a variety of issues. From providing vital advice to supporting young people to tackling social isolation, I am very proud that we are able to continue to support these fantastic groups.”
