Business engagement forum hailed a "success"

Working with the business community, Three Rivers District Council’s recent Business Forum has been well received among businesses in the area.

The meeting, which took place on 22 July, engaged the audience with the agenda including insight on apprenticeships, tourism and infrastructure within Hertfordshire and Three Rivers, including advice for businesses and looking into the future of the area and county.

The inaugural Forum saw a select number of larger businesses and supporting organisations that operate within the District come together to discuss the issues facing businesses now and in the foreseeable future. Officers of the Council and party leaders from all three political parties represented on the Council took part. Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Lead Member for Economic Development, Sustainability and Transport, who chaired the meeting said “The meeting was a success and very encouraging. The Forum has got the ball rolling for future meetings that will involve local businesses all over the district.”

The Three Rivers Business Forum will help develop the Economic Development Strategy for the area and establish some key priorities for the future.

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst said: "The Business Forum has laid the foundations for a stronger business community within Three Rivers, where communication between the Council and local enterprises can further develop, and will help build on our strategy to encourage growth and innovation”.
