Become a Community Champion and help tackle isolation

Updated: 6 September 2021

Did you help a neighbour, friend or relative through lockdown by delivering shopping or keeping them company?

Caring people who are willing to become Community Champions and help support their neighbours to tackle loneliness are being sought by Watford & Three Rivers Trust.

The lockdown brought out the very best in community spirit with people looking out for their neighbours and others in need by delivering shopping or keeping them company.

But even though lockdown is over, many people in the community still feel lonely and isolated and have lost the confidence to go out.

The charity is now looking for “Community Champions” for its Neighbours Together project to help encourage people to join activities that are listed in its What's On guide. The charity says the role is not a formal volunteer role, just something people can do as they go about their day to day business.
