Three Rivers District Council and Watford Borough Council create supplier portal to engage more closely with their suppliers.

Access to how councils manage their purchasing and what they require of their suppliers is now available to companies that register with the new supplier portal. It offers wider opportunities through ‘Supply Hertfordshire’, the focal point for all businesses who wish to be a supplier to the public sector within the county, and the supplier information database service that provides information on national public sector contracts.

By registering with the site, suppliers will have the opportunity to search contract opportunities within the county and receive email notification of suitable contract notices. There is also information and guidance on supplying the public sector.

Steven Halls, Chief Executive of Three Rivers District Council, said:
‘Businesses are going through a tough period and do not need unnecessary bureaucracy at any time. This new portal will reduce administrative costs for suppliers and I am convinced the new service will appeal to businesses across Hertfordshire and further afield.  In addition, the two councils will save on administration as well as on the cost of advertising.’
