Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme sets out the timetable for the progress of the Local Plan

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended by the Localism Act 2011) introduced the requirement for local planning authorities, such as Three Rivers District Council, to prepare and maintain a Local Development Scheme (LDS).

The LDS is a project plan that sets out the timetable for producing new or revised Development Plan Documents, which form our Local Plan. Our latest LDS, which supersedes previous versions, sets out a timeline for planning work over a three year period to 2026. It will be regularly reviewed to keep it up to date.

The latest LDS was endorsed on 11 March 2024.
