Barton Way Play Area
Exciting news!
The refurbishment works on the play area are due to start week commencing 5 January. The contractor is anticipating the works to be completed by 28 February, weather and site conditions permitting.
The aim is for the play area to be back in operation for the half term break so that the local residents can enjoy the newly refurbished play area as soon as possible. The contractor is very well aware of the local residents high use of this play area and is very keen to open the play area as much as possible for the public to enjoy, with the finishing off of any outstanding works, dealt with as a localised, safety fenced, site works and at no risk to the public.
We have chosen to work this way for this particular play area, as we are very aware that it is a very well used play area that serves the local population within walking distance. We want to make sure that the play area is up and operational again as soon as possible for everyone to enjoy. We will post details here on when the play area is open again.

Solitary bees:
We are aware that from time to time, solitary bees are seen around the sand pit in the play area. These bees are the most docile members of the bee family and whilst they are less likely to sting, we actively encourage them to choose another home nearby. For more information on bees, please visit www.wildlifetrusts.org.
