Discover East Lane Cemetery
A self-guided walk (at a leisurely pace allow approx: 50mins for a return walk).
East Lane Cemetery and Lychgate (1886) have been beautifully restored. The Cemetery is a special place within the Park and is truly worth taking the time to discover.
From the main car park head along the pathway past the play area and Leavesden HIVE, following the directional signs that take you on the path behind the Multi Sports Courts. You’ll notice the lovely carved totem pole on your left.
This pathway leads through the trees and comes to a ‘T’ junction, with a sign pointing to your left. Stroll through the orchard (no path), staying to the left and look out for the directional marker pointing you towards East Lane Cemetery.
At the end of this pathway, turn left onto the road leaving the park.
Reaching the top of the incline, the road bends to the left and you will see the Lychgate entrance to East Lane Cemetery.
Take a moment to sit, reflect and enjoy the ever-changing scenery that each new season brings to this unique Victorian setting.
Enjoy the Woodland Walk
On your return, enjoy the Woodland Walk (follow the carved woodpecker sign). This path meanders through the woodland with many flowers and varied habitats. The path is accessible all year round making it ideal for buggies, wheelchairs and mobility aids and re-joins the main path taking you back to the car park.
