Woodland burials
We want to encourage the development of natural woodland so that future generations can come to the cemetery to walk, sit and contemplate in peaceful surroundings. To achieve this, there are no headstones in the woodland section of the cemetery.
Instead, you can pay a fee into our woodland management fund, which we use to fund tree and bulb planting sessions that you and your family and friends can attend.
Coffins and caskets
Coffins and caskets for burial in the woodland must be made from biodegradable materials, such as cardboard, soft wood or wicker. You may also use a burial shroud.
Markers and tributes
On woodland graves we place small, numbered tablets on each burial site so you can find the grave of your loved one for years to come.
