Rickmansworth’s popular Winter Fair returns on Friday 26 November from 5pm – 9pm

Rickmansworth town centre will be transformed into a winter wonder land when the seasonal Winter Fair returns this month.

The annual event – which didn’t take place in 2020 due to the pandemic – will feature a range of stalls from local businesses, schools and charities. Roasted chestnuts, hot food, local produce as well as children’s books, balloon modelling and handmade gifts will be on offer.

The event was first held in 1992 and since 2009 has been organised by Rickmansworth Town Team. The team’s director, Nina Hosking, said: “Purchasing goods on the night is a great way to shop local and get ahead for Christmas gifts. And, of course, our local town centre traders will be joining in too – they need you more than ever and want the opportunity to say thank you for your continued support. Come along and enjoy this truly family event – we are looking forward to greeting you.”

The Vice-Chair of Three Rivers District Council, Cllr Debbie Morris, will attend the formal Christmas lights switch at 6pm.

Entertainment will be provided by performers including Magic Martin, who will be on stage outside Watersmeet Theatre from 4.45pm followed by the Chesham Girls Band, Razzamataz Theatre Schools, St Mary’s School Choir, Charlotte House School, Croxley Danes Choir, Stage Coach and Rickmansworth Rock Choir.

The Library and Three Rivers Museum in Basing House will be open for the evening offering a wide range of entertainment for all. Other attractions include fairground rides, Punch and Judy shows, Father Christmas and morris dancing.
