tistsmeet is taking a closer look at the natural world with an exhibition exploring rivers and the history they possess, presented by Rickmansworth based photographer Duncan Unsworth.

Using two different styles- traditional photography and scanographs, Duncan’s exhibition will showcase two themes:

Three Rivers – a documentary study of the local waterways including the Rivers Colne, Chess and Gade which meet in Rickmansworth. These rivers retain many traces of history as they pass through a landscape as it changes from rural to urban to post-industrial. Man has frequently altered the waterways before allowing nature to reassert itself.

Thames – a collection focusing upon the mysteries and histories enclosed in the waters of the River Thames. The images are made by using river water and items collected from the beaches beside the river to create striking and thought provoking still life assemblages.

Duncan has worked as a television cameraman for over 35 years with credits including ‘The Vicar of Dibley ‘, ‘One Foot in the Grave ‘ and many episodes of ‘Eastenders ‘. His photography has been regularly shown and is associated with the London Independent Photography and the Contemporary Group of the RPS.
