Three Rivers supports National Walking Month

May is National Walking Month and while our outdoor activity has been restricted, we can now get out and go for a health walk. Walk for 20 minutes every day as part of your daily exercise and see what benefits you experience.

Many of us are appreciating the chance to get out for a walk more than ever. Do remember that any outdoor exercise should be limited to members of your household or one member of your family from outside of your household as long as you remain socially distanced for the duration of the walk.

Cllr Chris Lloyd, Lead Member for Leisure, said: “It is so important to keep active, both for your own and your family’s wellbeing. We need to avoid storing up health problems for ourselves and a little exercise goes a long way. We have some fantastic open spaces to explore in Three Rivers. I have found new footpaths in recent weeks. If you are housebound I would encourage you to exercise at home. Stay Alert, Stay Safe, and Keep Healthy.”

Whilst walking through Three Rivers open spaces and parks, please share your photos on social media with the hashtag #ThreeRiversDC.
