Cllr Sara Bedford said: “I am delighted that Three Rivers is once again sponsoring Herts Pride. By sponsoring the volunteers we are able to support the event taking place and demonstrate our commitment to our diverse communities here in Hertfordshire.

“There will continue to be a need for Pride for as long as there is hatred and discrimination. No one should be made to feel uncomfortable, or bullied or attacked because of who they are or who they love.”

Andy Stovold, Head of Community Partnerships, added: “The Council is clear on its commitment to equality for all members of our community. Herts Pride, is an opportunity to bring communities together to reduce prejudice and celebrate diversity. Three Rivers officers will be at Herts Pride Health and Wellbeing marquee to promote services to the LGBT* communities.”

Tyson Martin, Chair of Hertfordshire Pride Society, added: “I am proud of our achievements in establishing an annual event where everyone is welcome to come and celebrate Hertfordshire’s fabulous LGBTQ+ community. I want to thank our sponsors for supporting Herts Pride 2019, and I look forward to seeing many people joining in the celebrations this year.”
