Watersmeet reopened its doors this week and is looking forward to welcoming back its patrons.

Watersmeet reopened its doors this week and is looking forward to welcoming back its patrons as it hosts a wide selection of films, live shows and event cinema in the coming months - all following Covid guidelines.

Paul Collins was first in through the doors on Tuesday at 10.10am, just ten minutes after the venue opened. He purchased tickets for Nomadland, an award-winning film that scooped three Oscars this year. Mr Collins had not been to Watersmeet before, but his partner asked him to buy them so they could enjoy an evening out.

Josh Sills, Venue Manager, said: “We can’t wait to welcome people back – this is the heartfelt theme throughout Watersmeet. If you’ve not been to the venue before, why not come along to one of the many events on offer – there are recorded screenings from top London stage shows that include The King & I, The Red Shoes, 42nd Street and Funny Girl, award-winning films and a wide selection of live music entertainment. Comedy Nights return on 10 June and the line-up for the first hilarious evening includes Marcus Brigstocke and Rachel Parris.”

Cllr Chris Lloyd, Lead Member for Leisure, said “This is such good news for the community.  Watersmeet provides an exceptional experience for theatre lovers and is something so many people have missed.

“From the minute you enter the venue, it is clear that the safety of the customer is paramount. Carefully laid out signage to meet Covid safety requirements is in place to reassure visitors during their visit, whilst at the same time ensuring a great time is had by all.”
