Information and careers guidance for people of all ages will be on offer at two special events in Abbots Langley and South Oxhey.

Three Rivers District Council’s Healthy Hub  scheme is hosting the events during National Careers Week  (6 March – 11 March), featuring representatives of local services including Hertfordshire County Council’s Service for Young People, Watford Job Centre and Watford and West Herts Chamber of Commerce - all offering information and advice to residents in need of a wide variety of support.

Guidance on offer will cover employment opportunities, educational courses and information on volunteering.

Cllr Sarah Nelmes, the Leader of the Council, said: “Starting a career and finding the right opportunities and the right direction to go in could not be a more important moment in a person’s life. If you are still in education, or if you are considering a change of direction and want to know what opportunities there might be out there - then come along to one of these events and find out more. We will have lots of support and guidance on offer to help you plan your next career step.”

The events will take place at Hillside Community Hub, 4A School Mead, Abbots Langley on Wednesday 8 March from 11am to 5pm and at Oxhey Library, Bridlington Road, South Oxhey from 10am – 4:30pm on Thursday 9 March.

The Healthy Hub project has been running since 2019 and provides dedicated local venues which act as a one stop shop to provide residents with access to a wide range of services and support.

The Three Rivers Healthy Hub operates from three locations across the district: Abbots Langley, South Oxhey and Mill End and seeks and work in partnership with the local community to understand what other needs there are, and how future services can be shaped.

Healthy Hubs are a partnership initiative delivered by the district council and funded by Hertfordshire County Council Public Health.
