The outcome of a complaint against a Councillor...

NOTICE is hereby given that the Standards Committee of Three Rivers District Council at its meeting on the 9 June 2009 considered a report prepared by Mr Peter Lerner (the Investigating Officer) in respect of a complaint made against Councillor Ann Shaw OBE of Three Rivers District Council which was referred for local investigation.  The complaint alleged a breach of Paragraph 5 of the Three Rivers District Council Code of Conduct for elected members (“You must not conduct yourself in a manner which could reasonably be regarded as bringing your office or authority into disrepute”).

The Decision of the Standards Committee was to:

Accept the Investigating Officer’s finding that Councillor Ann Shaw OBE had not breached the Three Rivers District Council Code of Conduct for Members in respect of the complaint referred by the Review Sub-Committee of the Standards Committee of the Council

Reasons for the decision

The Committee was satisfied that the Investigating Officer had carried out a thorough investigation of the complaint and, based on the evidence he had obtained, accepted his findings of no breaches of the Three Rivers District Council Code of Conduct.
