Another exciting event in Rickmansworth High Street, the annual fundraising Pancake Race for the local learning disability charity Watford Mencap was well supported and this year there were 20 teams taking part, with plenty of noise and encouragement from their friends and supporters who cheered them on.

In the final, the best four teams took part and the results were as followed. In fourth place were Thrive Homes, third place Sewell & Gardner, second place Three Rivers District Council, and the winners Vocalink. After the race, the Coach and Horses held the prize giving ceremony and a buffet put on by Dick Morgan the owner who has sponsored the event for many years. Watford Mencap is ‘the voice of learning disability in South West Hertfordshire’. They believe that "people with a learning disability have the right to enjoy equal opportunities and be valued as members of society, enabling them to lead the life they want for themselves." They provide a range of services for people with a learning disability and their families and carers.
