Three Rivers District Council held a Proclamation ceremony today (Sunday) to mark the Accession of the new King.

Cllr Debbie Morris, the Chair of Three Rivers District Council, read the Proclamation of the Accession of the new monarch, King Charles III, at 4pm in the Penn Chamber at Three Rivers House. The ceremony was attended by Cllr Sarah Nelmes, Leader of the Council, Joanne Wagstaffe, Chief Executive, as well as councillors, council officers and members of the public.

Following the Proclamation, the Union flag was lowered to half-mast and will remain so for the period of national mourning.

Hertfordshire County Council also hosted a Proclamation event at County Hall today at 1pm.

A book of condolence is available for the public to sign in the reception area of Three Rivers House during normal business hours.

Floral tributes may be placed by the public next to the fountain in the Rose Garden opposite Three Rivers House. Please remove all plastic wrappers/protection.
