A further installation at the King George V Playing Fields, in Mill End, is to take place in July.

The new outdoor fitness facilities across the district were designed and installed by Kompan and were funded by the capital programme, health and wellbeing fund, and developer contributions and sees a further investment of £166,000 into parks and open spaces’ outdoor facilities across the district.

All the new outdoor fitness zones have been designed to offer free fitness for all and offer a mix of robust, varied equipment, such as magnetic bells, pull-up bars, and suspension trainers, to suit people of all ages and abilities.

Cllr Chris Lloyd, Lead Member for Leisure said: “I am delighted to see our nationally recognised and award-winning parks have new outdoor fitness zones that are free for everyone to enjoy.

“Although our fabulous and much-loved parks and open spaces already provide great opportunities for people to keep active, these new outdoor fitness zones encourage free fitness and accessibility for everyone."
