Cllr Keith Martin has been re-elected as Chair of Three Rivers District Council for the 2021/22 Civic Year.

Cllr Martin was first elected to the council in October 2017 and has lived in the area for nearly 60 years. The role of council Chair is mostly ceremonial, with the post-holder stepping back from day-to-day political work. Cllr Martin will represent the council at a range of events and activities, as well as presiding over Full Council meetings.

On being elected Cllr Martin said: "It is a great honour to once again be appointed as Chair of Three Rivers District Council. Due to the Covid pandemic and lockdown, I didn't get the chance to achieve everything I wanted to during my tenure. So I am delighted to be able to continue in the role, just as lockdown restrictions are finally being eased. I very much look forward to getting out in the local community, meeting people and representing the council."

Cllr Martin will this year be supporting the Scouts as his chosen charity, as they aim to raise funds to improve their campsite in Chandlers Cross.

Cllr Debbie Morris has been elected as Vice-Chair of the council. She joined the council in 2014 and represents the Moor Park & Eastbury ward which is where she’s lived for almost 30 years. Debbie’s husband, Andrew, will be her consort.

Cllr Morris said: “I was delighted to accept the honour of Vice-Chair at the first live meeting of the council in 14 months. I’m hoping that the year ahead brings opportunities for face-to-face engagement across the community and that in my role I can help support those who have suffered, along with the many wonderful organisations who have worked tirelessly throughout this difficult time.”
