New Chairman and Vice-Chairman for Three rivers

Three Rivers District Council has a new Chairman with the appointment of Cllr Keith Martin into the role at the Annual Council webinar meeting held on Tuesday 10 June 2020. Cllr Martin was first elected to the Council in October 2017.

He has lived in the area for over 58 years and has two children who went to Malvern Way, Harvey Road, and Durrants local schools.

Cllr Martin will announce the charities he will support during his tenure within the next few weeks.

The role of Council chairman is mostly ceremonial, with the post-holder stepping back from day-to-day political work. Cllr Martin will represent the Council at a range of events and activities, as well as presiding over Full Council meetings. His Consort for the year will be his wife, Liz Martin.

On being elected, Keith said: “I am honoured to have been elected as Chairman of Three Rivers District Council. I am looking forward to making a positive difference by representing our communities and raising the profile of Three Rivers District.”

Cllr Martin Trevett has been elected as Vice-Chairman of the Council for the 2020/2021 Civic Year. He joined the Council in 1986 and has lived in Chorleywood since 1972. He is married to Nicola, for 39  years, she will be his Consort. Martin has one daughter and two sons who went to their local Chorleywood Primary School and St Clement Danes.

Martin said: “I am delighted to take on the role of Vice-Chairman. I am already looking forward to supporting and working with our new Chairman, Keith Martin, together we will represent  Three Rivers District Council and serve our communities to the best of our abilities.”
