During the current lockdown, it’s essential for our mental and physical health to get outside for some daily exercise, while maintaining social distancing by avoiding popular spots which can be busy at peak times.
Clarks analysed the reviews of more than 5,000 TripAdvisor attractions, spanning beaches, forests, parks and hiking trails to compile the ultimate list of hidden gems in the UK.
They were ranked from outdoor destinations with the highest number of five star visitor ratings to reveal the most secluded spots in the country. Leavesden Country Park was ranked tenth in the list of the UK’s Top Secret Parks.
Top comments from just some of the visitor reviews include:
- “Lovely walk with interesting sculptures and information.”
- “Visited on a dreary day but found this a delightful place to visit.”
- “The cafe is open for takeaway during Covid restrictions. Lovely play park for children and a fairy trail.”
Cllr Sarah Nelmes, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “It’s a really difficult time for everyone right now and our magnificent parks and open spaces across Three Rivers have never played such an important role.
“Please exercise once a day but make sure you stay local and don’t drive to parks and open spaces. If it’s too busy please go back another time and make sure you always follow the rules on social distancing to keep everyone safe.”
