Artistsmeet are delighted to be featuring for the first time an exquisite collection of fused glass and sand casted pieces, by local artist Ewa Wawrzyniak.
Ewa’s dreamscape sculptures are about vulnerability and protection, how we experience intimate places and to what extent memories and childhood experiences influence our need for a ’dreamplace’. Explored through sand casting, the process offers the artist an immediate, fast, free method of working with glass, which involves pouring hot glass into a mould made out of special, damp casting sand, requiring significant physical and energetic involvement from the creator.
She exhibits extensively in the UK, has commissioned pieces in collections worldwide and runs a number of glass courses as an artist and lecturer.
