Jubilee beacon lit in Rickmansworth

A beacon in Rickmansworth joined thousands across the UK to mark the Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee.

A beacon in the Rose Garden of Three Rivers House, Rickmansworth, joined thousands across the UK to mark the Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee.

Around 250 people watched as the beacon was formally lit by the Deputy Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, David Cansdale QPM, on Thursday 2 June. Cllr Debbie Morris, Chair of the Council, spoke for several minutes about the Queen and the significance of beacon lighting. The event was also attended by the Leader of the Council, Cllr Sarah Nelmes, and included a performance by South Oxhey Choir.
