Get ready to skate, scoot and ride as annual Sk8 Jam returns to Croxley

Wow the crowd with your skills or pick up some tips with free lessons at the annual skate event in Croxley Green.
Organised by Three Rivers District Council, with support from ABC Skateboarding, and sponsored by Croxley Green Parish Council, the Sk8 Jam will take place at Croxley Green Skate Park, Baldwins Lane between 12noon – 6pm on Saturday 16 August.
This popular event will include free skate lessons from ABC Skateboarding between 11am – 12noon, music, and friendly competitions where entrants can display their moves, tricks and skills.
The competitions are free to enter and open to all – there are a variety of categories and age groups, and include competitions in skateboarding, scooting and BMXing. The competition will be judged by ABC Skateboarding, who will also be handing out the prizes. All under 18s must wear helmets to compete.
Cllr Chris Lloyd, the council's Lead Member for Leisure, said: “I am delighted that the annual Sk8 Jam is taking place once more – it is a great, local event which has proven popular with skaters and spectators for over a decade.
“Even if you are not a skater, there will be lots for you to watch and enjoy – previous years have included some amazingly talented young skaters, scooters and BMXers and I would highly recommend watching the competitions.
“I would like to thank all of the event’s organisers and contributors, including ABC Skateboarding for providing free skate lessons, Croxley Green Parish Council for sponsoring the event and the Corner Plaice for providing meal deals”.
