Three charities will benefit from funds raised at the annual spring bazaar held at Frogmoor Court sheltered housing scheme

Three charities will benefit from funds raised at the annual spring bazaar held at Frogmoor Court sheltered housing scheme. The Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre (based at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre), the Watford Peace Hospice and the Keech Cottage Hospice for Children will each receive £205.

The spring bazaar was organised on 20 May by scheme residents and staff.

Resident Mrs Olive Bovingon said:

"The weather was very kind to us. As well as a cafe we had a homemade cake stall, tom bola, bookstall and 'guess the number of sweets in a bottle'. We got together and decided that we would give the money to these three charities because they do a lot of good work and are local to us."

Frogmoor Court is located in Rickmansworth. The scheme is home to 23 older residents and provides independent living with 24 hour support. Residents aged 60 years or over and interested in transferring to one of the sheltered housing schemes in Three Rivers district can contact the District Council on 01923 776611 (minicom 01923 727 303) enquiries@threerivers.gov.uk
