This summer holiday young people in Three Rivers will be able to swim and visit the gym for free at leisure centres throughout the district.

Three Rivers residents who are either under 19 or over 60 years of age will be able to swim during specified days and times at William Penn Leisure Centre in Rickmansworth, the new South Oxhey Leisure Centre in South Oxhey and Watford Leisure Centre Woodside in Garston.

Also returning to the district are the free gym sessions which are available at William Penn Leisure Centre, Rickmansworth (12-15 year olds), the new South Oxhey Leisure Centre, South Oxhey (11-15 year olds) and Watford Leisure Centre Woodside, Garston (11-15 year olds).

Cllr Chris Lloyd, Lead Member for Leisure, said: “I’m delighted that free swim and gym returns this summer in Three Rivers. The scheme has previously been extremely popular with residents and many young people, but we haven’t been able to run it during the Covid-19 pandemic. Everyone Active has worked hard to ensure the leisure centres can reopen safely and offer this scheme once again.”

To take advantage of the free swim and fee gym schemes, residents should contact the venue directly to arrange their free ‘Everyone Active card’ giving them access to the programmes.
