The legal practice department at Three Rivers District Council has been awarded the Law Society's prestigious Lexcel Award.

The legal practice department at Three Rivers District Council has been awarded the Law Society's prestigious Lexcel Award. The award recognises excellent client care and management standards.

The legal team was first awarded Lexcel accreditation in 2001 and was the first District Council in Hertfordshire to achieve the award. The team has been successfully reviewed each year since then. The latest award followed a full re-assessment in December 2004.

Among the areas assessed by the Law Society are case management, service provision, management structure and office administration. All of these areas were found to be 'areas of good practice' by the assessors.

Councillor Richard Struck, resources portfolio holder, said:

"This is great news for the Council and demonstrates that we are maintaining consistently high standards in customer service. Congratulations are due to the team for all their hard work."

Solicitor to the Council, Anne Morgan, added:

"We pride ourselves on providing a first rate legal service for the Council and it is very pleasing to receive external recognition of our high client care standards."
