Three Rivers District Council has announced that due to the coronavirus pandemic, Playschemes planned for this Easter holiday at Bedmond School, Abbots Langley and Yorke Mead School in Croxley Green will not go ahead.

Sara Bedford, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “This may be disappointing news for some. However, the safety of the children, their parents and our staff is very important to us. Running these schemes over the holiday period may have put them at risk.”

Cllr Chris Lloyd, Lead Member for Leisure, added: “We have discussed this with the Local Schools and they will be open during the Easter holidays for key worker and vulnerable children. I would like to thank everyone involved. Decisions like these are not easy to make especially knowing that the team have worked hard to ensure that the safety of the children is of the highest standard.

“The Council continues to work hard to deliver summer Playschemes across the District in July and August, should it be safe to do so. Please keep safe, there a variety of suggestions on Three Rivers Coronavirus web page, under Children and Education, that you may wish to use during this challenging period.”
