Hertfordshire’s garden waste that has been converted to compost is being made available to Three Rivers residents for free.

Residents can collect up to two bags per household of the compost produced from garden waste collected from homes across Hertfordshire and donated by Envar, West London Composting.

The council’s garden compost giveaway will take place in the car park at Rickmansworth Aquadrome on Wednesday 20 May from 9am until 2pm or sooner if the compost runs out.

Cllr Jon Tankard, Lead Member for Climate Change & Sustainability, said: “This is local recycling at its best – turning garden waste into something our community can use and enjoy. It’s a great way to give back to residents while helping everyone grow greener, healthier gardens this spring. Come along, grab some compost, and make the most of it!”

Residents are asked to bring their own shovels and bags to fill.
