Thousands of bulbs are set to be planted in Three Rivers – and residents are being invited to help start planting them at a community event.

The council is hosting its first community bulb planting on Tuesday 25 October – and is extending an invitation to anyone who wants to help plant the first 300 bulbs to come along. The project aims to make the district a vision of colour with a native variety of daffodils, snowdrops and grape hyacinths.

Cllr Chris Lloyd, the council’s Lead Member for Leisure, said: “This is a great opportunity for local people to get their hands in the earth and make sure that our district looks resplendent come next spring. I invite anyone who is interested to come along – it will be a fun way of helping our community look even more brilliant. All ages are welcome, so bring friends and family along too.”

All tools will be provided, but participants are asked to wear appropriate footwear and bring their own gardening gloves.

The event will take place between 12pm and 3pm at Cassiobridge Play Area, Watford Road, Croxley Green. No booking is required.
