On 23 December, Three Rivers once again hosted Northwood United Synagogue’s annual Chanukah candle lighting ceremony.

It was a joyous and very well-attended occasion which marked the second day of the Jewish Festival of Lights.

Candles were lit by Cllr Paula Hiscocks, Chairman of Three Rivers District Council, Gagan Mohindra MP and Sherrie Ralton a member of the council’s committee team along with others.

Cllr Debbie Morris said: “ This was another very special evening at Three Rivers. It was Gagan Mohindra’s first public engagement in the constituency since being elected as the Member of Parliament for South West Herts. He gave a short address and was presented with a commemorative Chanukah candelabra by the synagogue.

“We were also honoured to have in attendance the Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Robert Voss CBE with his wife plus one of his deputies responsible for inter-faith engagement. Thank you once again to Three Rivers District Council.”
