Chairman presents at the Rural Living Awards

The Chairman of Three Rivers District Council, Cllr Paula Hiscocks, attended the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England’s (CPRE) Rural Living awards presentation evening on Tuesday 15 October at County Hall in Hertford.

The Chairman of Three Rivers District Council, Cllr Paula Hiscocks, attended the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England’s (CPRE) Rural Living awards presentation evening on Tuesday 15 October at County Hall in Hertford.

Supported by Hertfordshire County Council, Hertfordshire Life and the Val Cansick Studio, the awards celebrated efforts made by individuals to improve life in their community and/or enhance the environment in Hertfordshire by protecting, promoting and enhancing villages, towns and the surrounding countryside to make them better places to live, work, study or enjoy for today and tomorrow.

Three Rivers residents scooped up three prestigious awards. Cllr Paula Hiscocks presented the Abel Smith Award to Max Watts for his amazing work at West Hyde Youth Centre, the business in the community award to Sarratt Post Office and the Chairman’s Award to Friends of Stockers Lake.

Cllr Hiscocks, said: “l have the upmost respect for these individuals and groups, who as volunteers demonstrate their care for improving life in our community and environment.”
