Electronic displays have been installed at bus stops across Three Rivers - providing passengers with real-time updates to help encourage more people to travel by bus.

The new information displays, funded by Three Rivers District Council, are now in operation at 15 bus shelters across the district.

The system is designed to encourage regular bus use by providing live bus location information to waiting passengers, reducing uncertainty and hopefully increasing bus use.

Cllr Paul Rainbow, the council’s Lead Member for Transport and Economic Development, said: “Waiting for a bus can be an uncertain business, especially if you live with mobility issues, and can even lead to potential passengers deciding to take alternative modes of transport.

“These new information displays will give passengers much more certainty, with live updates so they know exactly when the next bus will arrive and if there have been any delays.”

The new displays have been installed at bus shelters in South Oxhey, Croxley Green, Abbots Langley, Garston, Leavesden and Carpenders Park.
