Over 100 cyclists put the wet weather to one side for the day as friends and families cycled to the Aquadrome on 23 June.

Over 40 cyclists arrived bright and early and joined Spokes South West Herts Cycling Group on a three hour bike ride to Denham Country Park.  Other visitors arriving at the Aquadrome took advantage of the free security tagging provided by the Police and cycle safety checks carried out on their bike by Northwood Cycles.

Councillor Keith Williams, Cabinet Member for Leisure, said: “The day was a great success and I’m looking forward to the event again next year.”

He added: “Bike Week is not just for established cyclists, it’s about promoting cycling for everyone and showing just how easily riding can become part of everyday life. Cycling is a great way to keep fit and healthy and is a fun and enjoyable activity to do with the children.”

The cycle to the Aquadrome event formed part of Samsung Bike Week which was supported by Three Rivers District Council.
