Springtopia Trail at Leavesden Country Park

This Spring, the paths through Leavesden Country Park will be transformed into an open-air gallery from the whimsical land of Springtopia as families are invited to join a free, augmented reality (AR) story-trail.

The Springtopia trail is more than just a hunt; it’s an interactive art competition. Using only a smartphone, explorers can find the eggs, guess which animal artist painted them, and scan the QR codes to see the characters leap into the real world in stunning 3D AR. Along the way, families will tackle fun riddles and mini-challenges to help determine the winner of the Springtopia art prize.

The trail takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and is completely free for all families and groups. Once all 10 characters have been found and the challenges completed, players will be rewarded with a free, beautifully illustrated e-book to download and enjoy at home.

So, why not join Springtopia between 17 March – 19 April and help discover the winner of the Springtopia art prize! To start the adventure, families should head to Leavesden Country Park and look for the first vinyl marker on a tree through the park.

How do I scan QR codes?

Most modern phones now automatically scan QR codes simply by opening your camera app and pointing at them. If your phone doesn’t have this capability, you can download an app that reads QR codes instead. To make sure you successfully collect all the artists, please use the SAME phone and web browser (e.g., Chrome) for the whole trail.
