The Great Egg-Scape Trail at Rickmansworth Aquadrome

This Easter, the paths through the Rickmansworth Aquadrome will be transformed into a digital playground as families are invited to join The Great Egg-Scape —a free, high-tech augmented reality (AR) Easter egg hunt.

The Great Egg-Scape follows the Doggie Detectives on a whimsical mission. The Easter Bunny’s friends have gone missing from the factory and are locked behind a series of puzzling doors. To solve the mystery, families must hunt for 10 Egg-Scape stops hidden in the park.

Using only a smartphone, explorers can scan the QR codes to see 3D characters burst to life in the real world. Players can choose how the story unfolds, take egg-stravagant selfies, and even record videos with the AR characters to share on social media.

The trail takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and is completely free for all participants. Those who manage to find all 10 characters and reunite the Easter crew will be rewarded with a free digital prize pack, including a beautifully illustrated eBook that concludes the story.

So, why not join the Great Egg-Scape between 17 March – 19 April and help find the Easter Bunny’s missing friends! To start the adventure, families should head to Rickmansworth Aquadrome and look for the first vinyl marker on a tree through the park.

How do I scan QR codes?

Most modern phones now automatically scan QR codes simply by opening your camera app and pointing at them. If your phone doesn’t have this capability, you can download an app that reads QR codes instead. To make sure you successfully collect all the eggs, please use the SAME phone and web browser (e.g., Chrome) for the whole trail.
