Diane Barber, a Penn and Mill End Councillor, was elected Chairman of the District Council in May 2017. Cllr Barber said: “I came to live in Mill End in 2001 and began to get involved in local issues when I acted as Secretary for Mill End Residents Association and was elected as Councillor for Mill End and Penn in May 2015".
"Since then I have been actively involved with the Mill End Community Centre and I am also privileged to be a Governor at Shepherds J.M.I. I hope I can bring enthusiasm, optimism and a spirit of co-operation to everyone who works for our community. I am looking forward to meeting leaders and representatives of the many youth groups, charitable organisations and other groups who work so selflessly to support the lives of many of the residents”.
